Professional Graduate Certificate in Education: Teaching Learners with additional Needs | 2017
"During the PGCE I taught Extended Biology on the Access to HE Nursing and Midwifery pathway and delivered on the BTEC Applied Sciences programme. Teacher training was a challenge as it involved, taking on the roles and responsibilities of a teacher, refreshing my scientific knowledge whilst still looking after my family. Despite the pressure and hard work, it was equally rewarding seeing learners progress and succeed on their own learning journeys many of whom were offered places at their university of choice to pursue professions in the health industry. I learned many things about myself, for example, the course allowed me to become more assertive and develop confidence in myself and my abilities.
Since completing the PGCE I have achieved QTLS status and have worked as a community lecturer, teaching Computer skills, a class designed and aimed at ESOL learners. Currently, I am employed as an agency Science lecturer at Bolton college delivering both on the BTEC and Access to HE programmes."
