5 Physiotherapy Techniques used by Top Sports Stars

No matter what level a sport is played at, from the junior under 12s rugby team to a premier league footballer, injuries can happen. They do not discriminate from one player to another, and whilst some sports injuries can be relatively minor and simply need cleaning up, there are others that will be more severe.

This is where sports physiotherapy is vital for ensuring the continued well-being of sports stars. There are a number of physiotherapy techniques that are used for some of the more common injuries our sportsmen and women face. Getting the right treatment can mean the difference between a triumphant return to the sport they love, or a frustrating season on the side-lines.

Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy

An important sports physiotherapy technique, musculoskeletal physiotherapy is a specialised area that treats conditions and injuries that affect soft tissue, joints and muscles. This could be conditions like muscle strains and ligament sprains; all common injuries that occur for a lot of top sports stars as a result of gruelling training sessions and competitions.
