Access £4.8m industry-standard labs on our Dental Technology degree

Our Dental Technology degrees are second-to-none, giving you access to equipment you’ll be using in a real world dentistry environment.

Dental Technology at the University of Bolton is part of our Centre for Dental Sciences, the newest department of its kind in England. Learning takes place inside the Queen’s Building in Greater Manchester, where you’ll find £4.8 million purpose-built laboratories.

Within this building, there are dental processing rooms, where you’ll develop your skills to the highest standards; facilities include digital dental technology systems and house extremely advanced, specialist industry-standard equipment which you’ll use to learn how to make a variety of dental appliances.

Some of the types of dental technology you’ll be learning about here include braces, dentures and crowns. As well as understanding how to manufacture these, you’ll also gain the foundations to work in a dental practice and support patients with their teeth and dental care; giving you a well-rounded knowledge of this sector.

For graduates who want to go on to a career in the dental industry, this course gives you the foundations you need to apply for roles in the NHS, private practices, laboratories and manufacturers. You’ll also be able to take your academic studies to the next level, with master’s courses and PhDs available, as well as specific NHS training programmes.

There’s still time to apply for our Dental Technology courses at the University of Bolton for a January 2021 start. Not only have we been the No.1 in the North West for Student Satisfaction for the past three years*, but we’re also in the Top 5 in the UK for Teaching Quality**.
