Is Working in Health and Social Care Right For Me?

Are you wanting to start the New Year, with a new career? Want to do something where you can make a real difference in people’s lives? If the answer is yes, then health and social care could be a fantastic option.

Health and social care is about looking after and supporting those in the society that need support, from older people and children to those with learning difficulties and physical impairments. You’ll be making sure they keep happy and healthy and get all the support they need.

Here are some of the benefits of working in the sector, as well as what you can do with a health and social care degree.

The benefits of working in health and social care

As well as helping people get the care and support they need, there are lots of other exciting benefits to working in health and social care.

No two days are the same. For example, in the morning you could be working on a campaign to encourage people to eat healthier and then in the afternoon you could be making phone calls to help get an older person temporary home care support. All the people you meet and work with are unique and need different types of support.

There is also a lot of demand for people to work in the health and social care sector. This makes it easy to get a job doing something you truly love, as well as there being lots of scope for promotion and new opportunities.

You also get to meet people who live and work in your local community. So, if you enjoy meeting new people and like a chat, health and social care could be right up your street!
