Employability Support for Refugees at the IOM

20/04/2022

Kimberley Kershaw and Dr Denis Hyams-Ssekasi’s research focuses on social enterprise and enabling refugees to gain meaningful employment, their interest in this area has inspired a new initiative here at IOM the Refugee Employment Support Clinic (RESC), following successful receipt of their Campus Plus funding bid.

RESC

The RESC aims to welcome a cross-section of people with refugee status and backgrounds to discuss enterprise opportunities, identify employment prospects, and review potential employment skill gaps. The RESC also aims to raise awareness of the talent and capabilities within the refugee community that can often go unrecognised, and provide the opportunity for people to share their experiences of previous employment and work together to build social and professional networks.

The RESC runs every Friday from 29 April to 1 July to make support available for as many people in our community with this social initiative.

To sign up to attend the clinic, please use the link on the webpage Refugee Employment Support Clinic | University of Bolton or email Kimberley at k.kershaw@bolton.ac.uk.
