Martin Samangaya

Senior Lecturer - Nursing

I qualified as a Registered Nurse in 1998 and worked in the acute setting covering the following specialties of medical cardiology, coronary care surgical high dependence and post-anaesthetic care.

In 2005, I moved into the community and public health nursing and worked in men’s health, health promotion, health protection infection control, immunisation and screening.

My specialist areas are public health, immunisation, health protection, infection prevention and tackling inequalities in health.

Teaching
- I teach on several modules of the pre-registration adult nursing programme and trainee nursing associates
- I am the module lead of the Introduction to Principles of Professional Practice

Research Interests
- Tackling inequalities in health and better quality outcomes in public health
- Immunisations in primary and secondary care
