Dr Paul Cowley

Senior Lecturer and Programme Leader (MSc International Management)

Dr Paul Cowley joined the University in early 2015, having spent several years teaching at a number of UK-based higher education institutions. Before embarking on a career in education, he worked in several different roles for a range of public and private sector organisations.

Dr Cowley holds a BA (Hons) in Business Management as well as a Post Graduate Certificate of Education in Business Education and a Master’s Degree LL.M. in Business and Commercial Law. His Doctorate was completed through the use of Activity Theory as a tool for examining the professional development and practice of former industry practitioners entering academia to start employment. Additionally, he is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and a Member of the Chartered Management Institute (MCMI).

Dr Cowley's areas of academic interest include acculturation, professional identity, work-based learning and international education.
