Alumni Loyalty Discount 2021/22

 

The Alumni Loyalty Discount will be awarded to full-time and part-time UK and EU Masters students with Settled or Pre-Settled Status, irrespective of their financial means, who progress to a University of Bolton Taught Masters Course, having first completed an undergraduate Higher Education (HE) course of study or PGCE/PGDE/PDE/Cert Ed at University of Bolton. In order to qualify for this award, students must be registered Alumni Members.

Amount

£2000 will be paid as a tuition fee waiver and will be made over the anticipated duration of the course.

Eligibility for the Alumni Loyalty Discount

In order to be eligible you will need to demonstrate that:

  • You have successfully completed an undergraduate Honours Higher Education course of study or PGCE/PGDE/PDE/Cert Ed at University of Bolton. There are no restrictions on how long ago the qualifying course was completed.
  • You must be studying a full-time or part-time Taught Masters course on the University of Bolton campus. Any courses that qualify for undergraduate funding are not eligible for the Alumni Loyalty Discount as students on these courses are eligible to apply for undergraduate funding from the Student Loans Company. Please note the award will be paid for full 180 credit Masters courses only, not partial Masters courses or any other type of course.
  • You must not be in receipt of any other kind of sponsorship towards your tuition fees for example from an employer.
  • No other awards can be received in conjunction with this award.
  • The course of study must have commenced in September 2021 or January 2022. Retrospective applications from students who have commenced in previous academic years will not be accepted.

Applying for the Alumni Loyalty Discount

Eligibility for the fee waiver will be automatically identified upon application to the University of Bolton. There will be no application process for eligible students to complete.

Students will be notified via their University email address after enrolment on their course of study.

The Student Funding Team will then confirm the details of eligible students with the Invoicing team, who will adjust the invoices accordingly.

If you defer entry onto your course of study you will need to re-apply for the Alumni Loyalty Discount before commencement of your studies.

Terms and conditions

Students who transfer from BEng to MEng will not be eligible to receive the Alumni Loyalty Discount.

The Alumni Loyalty Discount shall not be awarded to full or part-time students studying PhD or MPhil courses.

The Alumni Loyalty Discount shall not be awarded for Research courses.

The Alumni Loyalty Discount will be paid for first master’s courses only, not second or subsequent courses.

Payments will be permanently terminated if the student withdraws, transfers to another institution, fails their programme of study, or interrupts or suspends their studies.

Payments of the award are made entirely at the discretion of the university.
