Support for New Students: Creating the Right Environment

We pride ourselves on creating a positive and supportive environment at the University of Bolton. We are always looking for ways to help new students and support them throughout their studies Discover more about the importance of student support and the different student help options we have available.

How Can Universities Support Students?

We know that attending a new university may be an overwhelming experience. After all, stepping into the unknown can always be a little bit worrying. That is why we pride ourselves on offering outstanding student support so that our students feel as settled and positive about their university experience.

There are so many different ways that student help can be provided.  We start with providing courses that are well-designed and meet the recognised standards that are in place. Aside from this, students are supported through the admission process, and encouraged to participate in extra courses and activities that best support their career ambitions.

However, student support is not just about the academic side of university life. We want to make sure that your mental and physical wellbeing is supported, and that you feel happy with your course and university experience as a whole. After all, university may present newfound independence for students, and we want to help you to channel this in a way that is right for you.

Some of the different services we provide are as follows:

- Student Finance and Funding, including advice on budgeting

- Disability Service

- Wellbeing and Mental Health services, which include cognitive behavioural therapy, counsellors, and mental health advisors, with help available in our Life Lounge
