Why University Open Days Are So Important Why University Open Days Are So Important

The new university year may only just have started, and freshers may still be finding their feet, but it is already time for those students who are considering continuing their further education journey to start thinking about university and working out which university Open Days they’d like to attend.

Choosing a university is not always as easy a decision as you might think so it is important to start thinking about your options now.

How University Open Days Could Help You Decide Where to Study

Whether you’re keen on studying in Greater Manchester or are looking elsewhere in the country to continue your education after school or college, university Open Days are vital when it comes to making your final choice for the universities you may want to apply to. They offer you a real chance to see the university in person, explore the buildings and their surrounding area, and of course meet current lecturers and students who will be able to answer some of the questions that you might have.

They also provide a great opportunity to visit the school of the subject you are considering studying and seeing exactly what the course entails. While much of this information may already be available in the university prospectus, it cannot convey the sense of community; that “this is the one” vibe that an in-person visit will give.

When Are University Open Days Held?

Open Days are often held at the weekend, at several intervals throughout the year. It is important to check the website of any university that you would like to visit for their current schedule; particularly in the current climate when things can change very quickly.
