Alison Farrell

Lecturer in Early Years and Childhood Studies

At the University of Bolton, I am a lecturer in Early Years/Childhood Studies which sits within the Faculty of Health and Wellbeing. I previously worked within a Further Education provision which also delivered Higher Education programmes. My role included teaching on a variety of degree programmes as a partner institution with various universities including the University of Bolton and Liverpool John Moores. I have also delivered vocational, community and apprenticeship courses at level two through to level six.

I have worked within the field of Early Years since leaving school. My experience is vast where I have covered a range of roles that included working with children, families and multi-agency teams. I mainly worked within a nursery setting before embarking on my teaching career.

After the completion of my Certificate of Education, I completed an Undergraduate Degree in Education and Training in the Post Compulsory Sector at Huddersfield University. I continued to study and in 2016, I completed my Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Studies. Additionally, I have achieved my HEA Fellowship and QTLS status.
