The School of Engineering has a distinguished history and includes the UK's only National Centre for Motorsport Engineering (NCME) . We continually monitor and update our courses to reflect current and ever-changing engineering issues and keep your learning in line with technological advances and innovations.

Your studies will take place in our £13 million state-of-the-art specialist workshops and laboratories, built specifically for engineering, automotive performance engineering and motorsport technology. The Centre for Advanced Manufacturing part of NCME, offers an extensive equipment and capability list to engineering firms across the UK, partnering with them to increase their productivity and potential, and develop engineering workforces that provide the backbone of the UK’s engineering industry.

The School of Engineering is also home to the Institute for Materials Research and Innovation (IMRI). This Institute leads the UK and is internationally known for its strong applied materials science and engineering applications through the development of novel smart and multifunctional composite materials (fibres, fabrics, films, foams and particles) at nano/micro levels, as well as associated processing technologies that strive to contribute to futuristic solutions and new horizons within the global marketplace.
