Games design is a fast-growing sector that’s predicted to be worth more than £130 billion by the end of 2021*. It offers lucrative careers at the cutting-edge of technology, and talented games programmers are always in demand in the UK, Europe and the USA.
Jobs in games design are emerging in many places, not only in the games industry; gamification can now be seen across a range of businesses, as well as education and healthcare; meaning there are lots of opportunities to earn once you’ve finished your games degree.
According to Prospects, a games designer can earn around £30,000, with senior staff bringing in more than £65,000. Salaries depend on a variety of factors, such as your experience, the size and location of the company you work for, and the type of games you work on.
