Many students enter university with a plan to become entrepreneurs and make their own mark on the world. It's no wonder; successful business people often have inspiring stories of overcoming hardship and pursuing their dreams. Let's look at some of the most famous success stories in entrepreneurship and how a BSc (Hons) Business Start-Up degree from the University of Bolton can help you follow in their footsteps.
Steve Jobs - Apple
One of the most famous names in business is Steve Jobs, co-founder of technology giant Apple. His story began in 1976 when he and his friend Steve Wozniak founded their first company, Apple Computer, out of a garage in California. From there, Jobs grew the company into one of the world’s largest corporations with products such as the iPhone, iPad, and MacBook that are now ubiquitous around the globe.
What makes Jobs’ story particularly interesting is that he was not a college graduate—in fact, he dropped out after only six months. Despite this setback (or perhaps because of it), Jobs was determined to succeed by any means necessary; he worked odd jobs to make ends meet while continuing his entrepreneurial path until Apple eventually took off. Despite numerous setbacks throughout his life, Jobs persevered and became one of the most successful businessmen in history.
Mark Zuckerberg - Facebook
Another inspirational success story comes from Mark Zuckerberg, who founded the social media platform Facebook back in 2004 while studying at Harvard University. What started out as a small project for Zuckerberg quickly became an internet phenomenon that has changed how people interact with each other online forever! After their acquisition of Instagram in 2012, Facebook became one of the largest companies in the world with a market capitalisation of over $800 billion and 2.91 billion monthly active users. A figure which is even higher than the monthly active users on Instagram, which is 2 billion.
Zuckerberg had no idea when he created Facebook that it would become so successful; however, it goes to show what can be accomplished with hard work and determination even when starting out without much experience or resources.
Richard Branson - Virgin Group
Finally, let’s look at Richard Branson who founded Virgin Group back in 1970 while still attending school full-time! In just 50 years since its founding, Virgin Group has grown into one of the world’s largest conglomerates spanning everything from airlines to music labels to space exploration! Branson himself is now worth over $4 billion thanks to his innovative thinking and dedication to changing how people view business across multiple industries worldwide!
What makes Branson stand out is how quickly he achieved success despite having limited access to resources or contacts early on; through sheer hard work and creativity he managed to build Virgin Group into something remarkable that continues to grow today!
These three success stories show us what is possible when you pursue your dreams despite obstacles or lack of resources – anything can be achieved with hard work, determination, and creative thinking!
