University of Bolton, why we are the right choice
Location - Bolton, Greater Manchester
Michael studied at the University of Manchester and was awarded BSc (First class honours) Mathematics in 1988 and MSc Pure Mathematics in 1989. He continued to study at Manchester for a PhD in Algebraic Combinatorics, an application of algebra to counting problems, which he was awarded in 1992.
He has worked at the University of Bolton as a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer since 1992 and played a lead role in the development of the degree provision in Mathematics at the University. His main academic areas of interest are in abstract algebra, particularly group theory, ring theory and Galois theory. He also has extensive experience of teaching Mathematics to students in other subjects, particularly Engineering.
Michael studied part-time at the University of Bolton for the award of MA (with distinction) Philosophy in 2002, and his dissertation.
