University of Bolton, why we are the right choice
Location - Bolton, Greater Manchester
24/09/2022
2023 will be a year for breaking records at our university. Dedication to providing a supportive learning environment and passionate lecturers who know all their students by name means we have now been voted the top university in our region for Student Satisfaction for five years running*.
Our students love being here because we listen, and this is reflected in our National Student Survey results. By gathering student opinions of their learning experience, we have been able to improve both on and off-campus experiences; this important feedback has led directly to another milestone for the University of Bolton.
We have been ranked in the Top 40 in The Guardian’s Best University Guide for 2023!
From being in 86th place in 2020 to shooting up the league table to 46th out of the 121 UK universities ranked in last year’s guide, we have now been placed in the Top 40 for the first time!
Universities are given an overall score based on factors that include student course and teaching satisfaction, student-to-staff ratio, average spend per student, average entry tariff, etc. With students' needs in mind, the Guardian gives a reliable source to refer to when choosing the best universities in a region.
This is an especially rewarding achievement for the University of Bolton, a HE institution that places an emphasis on putting our students and their needs first.
We know that we’re quite small in comparison to others, but we use that to our advantage. Our students aren’t one of 200 sitting in front of one lecturer. They’re one of just 20 to 30. We provide a more personal experience; offering smaller class sizes so that you can see familiar faces inside and outside the classroom; walking to the library or catching a bus to campus in the morning. At Bolton, we provide a friendly and inclusive campus to ensure that nobody is left feeling isolated; there is support for you at every step!
Bolton; In the heart of Greater Manchester
Bolton is one of the UK’s friendliest towns and a place we are proud to call home. Being placed in the heart of a “town full of selfless people”, it is a clean and friendly place to live and visit; giving new students the security they need to feel safe and welcome when moving to university.
Bolton also provides the perfect urban and rural balance, located within a 15-minute train journey to Manchester and close to the stunning countryside of the West Pennine Moors. If you’re looking for a balance of big city life and country walks with Instagram-worthy views, Bolton is a place to give you the best of both worlds!
