Baz Armstrong

Senior Lecturer/Programme Leader MA Games Development

Baz started his career as a professional illustrator and graphic designer specialising in magazine illustration and packaging design before embarking on a 20-year career as a professional games artist.

His work has featured in more than 35 games published by some of the world’s leading games companies, including Atari, EA Sports, Activision, Disney/THQ, Ocean, US Gold, Team17, Infogrammes, Ubisoft, Eidos and BBC worldwide.

Baz’s knowledge of the games industry and production know-how have contributed to the design of games courses for several universities across the UK. Baz is now the programme leader of the MA Games Development course and enjoys teaching digital sculpture for character and creature design on the BA (Hons) Games Art course.

Research Interests:
Alternative uses for computer game technology.

Teaching specialisms:
Baz supervises and art directs student games projects and teaches digital sculpture for character and creature creation.
