University of Bolton, why we are the right choice
Location - Bolton, Greater Manchester
After graduating with a Diploma in Adult nursing in 2003, I worked as a staff nurse on a medical and surgical ward. Following this, I had a keen interest in Midwifery and completed a BSc (Hons) in Midwifery in 2007.
Having identified a passion for higher education and working with the next generation of Midwives I commenced at the University of Bolton in January 2020 and am now currently teaching on the pre-registration midwifery programme.
In February 2021 I completed the Preparation for Education and Teaching certificate. I am currently working towards my postgraduate certificate in teaching and learning in higher and professional practice.
In June 2022, I commenced acting Programme Lead for the Midwifery programme. I strive to utilise the knowledge and skills I have obtained within my previous role to inform both midwifery and nursing practice.
I have a particular interest in maternal mental health and the role of human factors in healthcare. I am keen to continue to develop both personally and professionally within my role at the University and to continue to develop the evidence base for the profession whilst informing midwifery education.
From Jan 2024 I commenced my new role as programme lead on the adult nursing course and look forward to undertaking this role and continuing to develop professionally.
