Kirsty has been an NMC registered nurse since 2005 and obtained her BSc (Hons) in Adult nursing at Staffordshire University and also achieved a post graduate MSc in Nursing practice development from the Manchester Metropolitan University. Studying for a MSc gave Kirsty an insight into developing nursing practice and also sparked an interest in nurse development and education.
Kirsty has a broad experience of working in a variety of clinical settings such as primary care, accident and emergency and intensive care. Kirsty works as a lecturer within the clinical skills team teaching on the pre-registration nursing programme developing practical hands-on sessions. Kirsty has a keen interest in simulation and developing teaching in these areas.
Kirsty has attended and presented work alongside colleagues at conferences focusing on simulation and teaching in healthcare. Kirsty has also achieved her Teaching and supporting learning in higher and professional education module.
