Location - Bolton, Greater Manchester
Phil is Programme Lead for the Graduate Certificate in Nursing Studies for Nurses Trained outside the UK. With over 35 years of experience in healthcare, he has a background as a Senior Nurse Manager, both clinically and operationally within the NHS and the independent sector.
He has worked in a number of varied clinical areas in the UK and overseas, focusing on Emergency, Urgent and Acute Care. He is also experienced in governance, service redesign, medico-legal work and IMT design and implementation. He has spoken at national and international conferences and edited Emergencies in Adult Nursing for the Oxford University Press. He has worked previously in education with the University of Worcester and has been a visiting lecturer for Aston University as well as providing education to a wide range of private companies both within healthcare and in other sectors. Phil was a founder member of the Faculty of Emergency Nursing and held the role of President of the Faculty. He has worked in an advisory capacity with organisations and agencies, such as NICE, the NMC, the Department of Health and the RCN.
