Sam Reece

Lecturer in Non-medical Prescribing

Sam has been a qualified nurse for over 13 years and her background is Accident & Emergency and Urgent Care.

Sam was a Nurse practitioner and responsible for assessing, diagnosis, treating, prescribing and discharging patients autonomously. She was also the practice-based educator and responsible for staff development for all clinical staff within the Urgent Care Centre. Sam created an educational curriculum for all banding and staff to assist with their career progression and to ensure they stayed up-to-date with the latest evidence-based practice. She was also the lead for year 1 and 2 medical students who came to the infirmary for clinical exposure from the University of Manchester.

Sam has a degree in nursing and a master’s in professional education and is currently undertaking the professional Doctorate in Education.

Research Interests and Research Subject Specialisms:
Student motivation and ongoing development within postgraduate education.
