REGISTRATION AT THE GREATER MANCHESTER BUSINESS SCHOOL

How to get to the venue, parking, academic dress and photography

You will need to register your attendance at Y0-02 in the Greater Manchester Business School (GMBS) building. You will do this before you collect your academic gown and have your photographs taken.

Registration will take place at the Greater Manchester Business School (GMBS) building, which is a short 5-minute walk from the Albert Halls.

Opening Times

On the day of your graduation, you must arrive promptly for registration at GMBS, room Y0-02, you will be given your student ticket and seat allocation. You will then be directed to the Academic Gowning area. Your guests will be asked to wait outside the GMBS building until you have collected your academic dress.

Once you have completed the registration and collected your academic gown, you will be able to have official photographs taken (if applicable). Please note: for the 10am ceremony you are requested to have your photographs taken after your ceremony to ensure you have enough time. Please make your way to the Albert Halls to be seated no later than 15 minutes before the start of your ceremony.

Getting there by public transport

The nearest train station to GMBS is Bolton Train Station (next to the GMBS building). For train times and journey/route planning please visit National Rail Enquiries.

You can also travel by the local bus network, which stop at Bolton Bus Interchange, which is located next to Bolton Train Station (next to the GMBS building). More information can be found on the Transport for Greater Manchester webpage.

Getting there by car

From the North (A666 Southbound)

From the A666 southbound, exit and follow signs for Town Centre South (A579). At the end of the exit slip road turn right onto Lower Bridgeman Street (A579). On this road, please ensure you are in the right lane. You will reach a T-junction where you want to follow the road to the right, following signs for A579. Almost immediately you will come to the next set of lights, keep straight and continue on Bradshawgate, continue along until you reach a set of traffic lights and turn left onto Great Moor Street. Continue, the Greater Manchester Business School building is on your left, and the nearest car park is the NCP Octagon Car Park, which is through the lights and first right. From the East (A58 Westbound)

From A58 proceed straight on onto A579. Follow this road, you will pass Lexus garage on your right. At next junction fork left still following A579, go straight through next 2 sets of lights (second set major junction). On this road, please ensure you are in the right-hand lane. You will reach a T-junction where you want to follow the road to the right, following signs for A579. Almost immediately you will come to the next set of lights, keep straight and continue on Bradshawgate, continue along until you reach a set of traffic lights and turn left onto Great Moor Street. Continue, the Greater Manchester Business School building is on your left, and the nearest car park is the NCP Octagon Car Park, which is through the lights and first right.
