University of Bolton, why we are the right choice
Location - Bolton, Greater Manchester
16/02/2023
In a world where there are over five million businesses in the UK, the business sector has never been more competitive. However, due to constantly changing consumer demands and interests, gaps in the market remain.
If you are a budding entrepreneur with an eye for spotting potential business opportunities, and you have the drive and determination to turn your idea into reality, let the University of Bolton support your ambitions.
This blog explores the Bolton Ignition Fund and how it can help those looking to get their business off the ground.
What is the Bolton Ignition Fund?
Putting it simply, the fund is a university scheme launched by the Bolton Business Gateway team that aims to kickstart the university’s support for “studentrepreneurs” who are either planning the start of their business or those who have already started a company that’s in its early stages.
The fund acts as an opportunity for students and recent graduates to earn start-up capital for their business ideas. A key reason why we do this is that, as a university, we recognise that one of the hardest factors to consider when starting a business is sourcing the funding required to get started. Let’s look at the prizes we offer to support your entrepreneurial ambitions:
- Winning prize of £5,000
- 3x Runners-up prizes of up to £3,000
- 5x Merit awards of up to £1,500 each
Who is Eligible for the Bolton Ignition Fund?
- Are you a current student?
- Are you a recent graduate of fewer than two years?
- Are you a student or graduate with a HOME status?
Yes? Great! This means you’re eligible to submit your idea and get yourself in contention to win the award.
How to Get Involved?
Now, you might be wondering how you can get involved in the Bolton Ignition Fund? All students will need to submit a business model canvas to submit their application; a copy of this can be found by clicking here.
