University of Bolton, why we are the right choice
Location - Bolton, Greater Manchester
If you are studying at the University of Bolton with a Tier 4 visa you will need to be aware that certain changes to your studies may impact on your visa. Below is a summary of these changes and how they will impact your immigration status in the UK.
You must seek advice from the International Student Journey Officer before you request any change to your student record.
Students with a Tier 4 visa must be studying a full-time course. Requests to study part-time cannot be approved for Tier 4 students.
If you wish to suspend your studies for either personal or academic reasons you must have the authorisation of your Programme Leader. If you are an international student with a Tier 4 visa you should also seek advice from the International Student Journey Officer before suspending your studies.
The university is required to report a suspension in studies to UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI). Your visa will be curtailed and you will be advised of this in writing by UKVI. The letter will confirm the date that you must make arrangements to leave the UK or make a further application for leave.
Once you are in a position to resume your studies you will need to request a new CAS from the university and make a fresh Entry Clearance application from your country of residence for new Tier 4 leave.
If you withdraw from your course of study the university will be required to report this to UKVI. Your visa will then be curtailed and you will be advised of this in writing by the UKVI. The letter will confirm the date that you must make arrangements to leave the UK.
If you complete your course earlier than expected the university will be required to report this to UKVI. Your visa will then be curtailed and you will be advised of this in writing by UKVI. The letter will confirm the date that you must make arrangements to leave the UK or make a further application for leave.
If you wish to change your course of study, you will need to seek advice from the International Student Journey Officer who will check whether the requested change is possible and the implications of this change on your current Tier 4 permission.
