University of Bolton, why we are the right choice
Location - Bolton, Greater Manchester
Jo graduated in 2015 with a BSc (Hons) in Operating Department Practice. She then started working as an Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) at a local organisation where a significant part of her role was to support students in practice. During her time there, Jo developed a strong interest in higher education and was eager to build upon her foundation.
In 2019, Jo pursued a PGCE (Science) and went on to teach in various educational settings. Later, she became an Associate Lecturer for the ODP programme at The University of Bolton. Jo also supported the NHS Cadets program and worked clinical shifts at a local organisation during this time.
As her passion for higher education grew, so did Jo's programme responsibilities. She progressed from Associate Lecturer to Lecturer and then to Programme Lead. In this role, Jo discovered a particular interest in the recruiting and retention of new learners.
Jo continues to develop academically and professionally at the University and has recently taken on the new role of Academic Coordinator/Senior Lecturer for Student Recruitment and Retention whilst also continuing with her own studies.
