MSc Entrepreneurship and Innovation Student Makes Transformative Leap

Ambrose Chukwuebuka Anih, a senior editor with Magazine HQ Nigeria embarked on a transformative journey by enrolling in the MSc Entrepreneurship and Innovation programme at the University of Bolton in 2023.

His decision to pursue this programme was driven by a desire to address critical gaps in his entrepreneurial skill set, in particular - raising finance, working with lean budgets, communicating value propositions, and developing winning marketing strategies.

The curriculum and academic support offered by the University of Bolton played a pivotal role in Ambrose's development as an entrepreneur. Modules such as New Business Creation, Solutions-Driven Design and Practice and Sustainable Business Growth and Development equipped him with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the complexities of entrepreneurship. The programme's emphasis on practical, industry-relevant learning ensured that Ambrose gained real-world insights from experienced tutors.

In addition to the course, Ambrose served as a member of the student Sustainability Panel and lead projects for the international students at Orlando Village, the on-campus accommodation. Getting involved in the Sustainability Panel not only enriched his overall university experience but also provided him with invaluable opportunities to network with industry experts and gain practical insights into sustainable business practices.

After completing his course, Ambrose now plans to launch various genres of magazines, enhance platforms like Kith Central and Sustainability Central and make a significant impact in the entrepreneurial landscape with his newfound skills and knowledge.

Reflecting on his journey so far, Ambrose emphasises the unparalleled value of the Entrepreneurship and Innovation programme at the University of Bolton. The programme not only equipped him with strategic communication skills and ways to create value but provided a supportive environment to navigate cultural adjustments and challenges.

Carol Brown, Interim Head of Greater Manchester Business School said;

“Ambrose contributed real world commercial experience in class, along with several other students. This all helps to share an understanding of real-world business and the practical perspectives bring the theory to life. This helps students to build professional business plans that they can then take straight into their professional lives – whether running their own business or adding competitive advantage in someone else’s company. He’s been a real asset to the learning.”

In conclusion, Ambrose's experience in the MSc Entrepreneurship and Innovation programme at the University of Bolton has been transformative. This programme offers a unique blend of academic rigor, practical learning, and industry exposure for wannabe entrepreneurs.
