The fair's success is the result of months of meticulous planning and coordination by the university's dedicated careers team. From initial brainstorming sessions to final execution, every aspect of the event is carefully orchestrated to ensure maximum impact. This involves extensive outreach to employers across Greater Manchester and beyond resulting in an exclusive line up of participating organisations spanning various sectors within the education industry.
In addition to securing employer participation, the planning process also involves arranging guest speakers and designing interactive sessions to enrich students' understanding of the career pathways available to them. From panel discussions to hands-on workshops the fair offers a diverse range of opportunities for students to gain valuable insights and practical skills.
The Education Careers Fair is held every year, usually in March. This year, marked a significant milestone in the university's ongoing efforts to nurture student employability. Attendees were treated to a programme featuring presentations, panel discussions and networking opportunities. Of particular note were the thought-provoking presentations by esteemed guest speakers including Principal Daniel Cross whose insights into alternative education pathways captivated the audience and sparked meaningful discussions.
Throughout the day students had the opportunity to engage directly with employers, learn about job opportunities and expand their professional networks. From local authority schools to multi-academy trusts and alternative provision providers, the fair showcased the diverse array of career options available within the education sector.

One student remarked, "The fair was really informative offering a glimpse into both mainstream and alternative provision settings for potential employment. I also appreciated the chance to connect with various agencies, understanding the importance of such networks in my future career."
Employers also echoed the success of the fair. They commended the event for providing a platform to network with potential trainee teachers, noting the high level of engagement and enthusiasm displayed by students throughout the day.
